An Encounter with God that Changed my Life [1st Prize VoY STC]

God is the being who made the universe and is believed to have an effect on all things and God is the controller of the hearts, the minds of all those who believe in him.

Life is the period between birth and death or the experience or state of being alive so we are all alive because God gave us life. An encounter is a meeting especially one that happens by chance which changed someone whose behavior and character has changed a lot especially improved.

I am an imperfect person loved by a perfect God. Years ago I used to be a very stubborn, flippant, proud child. I used to draw draggers (quarrels) with my siblings, friends. All my friends disliked me; I had a very bad behavior. My mother often beat me severely so that I changed my attitude. I often ignored all those who tried to advise me because I knew that whatever I was doing was right. But even though I was very stubborn, God still protected me and favored me. After sometime, I started realizing that because of my bad character I was not doing well in my studies.

After some months, I sat on a bench in school and I asked myself where all those things that I was doing were taking me to, why is it that all my friends were succeeding but I was the opposite of them. One day, I followed a sermon in church and I realized that God does not need our praise but deserves to be praised. I devoted myself to God and things began to change for the best. I was appreciated by all my teachers my results changed automatically. I always came first in my class by the grace of God.

When we come to God we shall know that we need God more than we need money, wealth and even need God more than we need our parents. I need God in every single moment of my life and I am hopeful about my future because I know and I have a history, and I know by his grace everything I do is favored, everything I touch prospers, everything attached to me wins and I keep praying that God blesses my hustle, doubles my income and reduces my stress. I quote Romans 12:2”Renew your mind to be transformed.

I am proud to say that I have been transformed (changed) through my encounter with God. Amen.
