VoY from birth
Founded in 2016, the Voices of the Young (VoY) Initiative is a group of talented and peace loving youths who are committed in their strife to make the world comfortable for all.
The VOY Initiative believes that young people must take key actions to make the world a better place.
In the past, many youths were neglected in decision making of most countries of the world. Right at the United Nations (UN), the voices of youths were almost silenced and their presence unnoticed. Decisions about youths were taken in their absence. Youths were often not consulted and this explains why most of those decisions made in their absence were failures.

The old Perspective
Youths were often looked at from very negative lenses. They were seen as drug addicts, criminals, and violent offenders and other negative connotations. These connotations were instead a motivation to youth offending and violence. It was a discouragement to any meaningful efforts by youths to promote peace happiness in the world.
The United Nations and other organizations both International and Local have in recent times been engaging youths in most of their agendas. Resolutions like the UN Security Council Resolution 2250 are motivated by the desire to get youths involved in the peace building process. In Cameroon, major stake holders are stepping up their efforts to empower youths. The National Youth Council and the representation of youths in most structures are glaring example of the recognition of the role of youths in the life of a society.
The New Perspective
The VOY Initiative is founded on the above premise. It is aimed at supporting the efforts of the state to empower youths. VOY members are out to promote peace, inspire and empower youths. We are producing youths with morals and good qualities. Youths who put peace and God ahead and will be the change bearers of their respective communities.
In VOY, youthfulness is never a barrier to participation in nation building. We believe that youthfulness is one of the best periods to contribute to peace and development. We believe in fairness, equality and acceptance of all people irrespective of what or what they are.
