Growing up as a child and seeing my mother  die in my arms from tuberculosis   because of the lack of medical facilities and the marshy area we lived in inspired me to work so that I make my country better.

In a house of five, it was not easy for me to feed all those mouths for we were orphans and there was no one to take care of us and I was eighteen the eldest. Education was not the best for me. No electricity, the school I attended lacked benches and a roof making studies uncomfortable .The lack of finances forced me into drugs. This landed in jail and I needed rehab. Jail life was worst for me; there was no freedom and comfort .

When I finally left jail, I learnt that my sisters had gotten into prostitution and had adapted to an unpleasant lifestyle. I then decided to continue school and make a better life. I struggled then graduated with a degree, first class. I could not make it in public exams because of the huge sum of money I was asked to give. While going to offices, one could hear the rhythm of last names rhyming together for relatives could be seen working in the same office.

Also the dreams of my friends were shattered because of the nature of the country making them do what they did not like. This affected their ability to create and innovate. Some mates who were given scholarships to go abroad went but never returned to the country. One day walking on the streets I was dragged into a building and was raped and everyone rejected me after that incident. It was traumatising.

As I told my story, journalists were jotting down and cameras were pointing towards me .I began to tell myself “When I will become president, I will provide good medical facilities, avoid dirty marshy areas to avoid several deaths. Primary public education will be free and schools will be made very comfortable and airy for learning. In addition, orphans will be given to foster homes in order to reduce factors leading to prostitution, drug dealing, suicide, loneliness and hunger.

Prisons will be made comfortable such that inmates will be creative, inspired  and  motivated. Rehabilitation centres will be made in order to revive assaulted ones, to give them hope and courage. Many jobs, industries will be created and it will be according to merit to avoid brain draining, Bribery and corruption will be silenced. Nepotism will be a name of old because a nation is built by families not a family.

Creativity is what brings a nation together without creativity a nation is not recognised. Dreams and creativity is what is going to boost up the nation. I will try hard to be a better president to inspire citizens and make them patriotic”. As I finished speaking, people clapped and that was my last campaign for the elections.
